Meat filling (Byrek me mish)

3 T oil
3 onions, thinly sliced
1 pound ground beef, or a mix of ground beef, lamb, and pork
1 t salt
1 t black or tricolor pepper
½ T paprika

Heat the oil in a pan and cook the onions until slightly caramelized and translucent. Add the meat, salt, pepper, and paprika and mix everything together in the pan until the meat has absorbed all its liquid and has browned. Let it cool before using to fill the burek. This filling can be prepared the day before and saved in the fridge.
